Victims of the Past

Victims of the Past provides a clear understanding of Canadian history from a First Nations point of view. Gerald Kiesman has spent 20 years researching how the Indigenous, First Nation, Metis and Inuit people have been impacted by colonization. Upon his research, he recognized that the history written about Canada and the Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples was far outdated and was from a one-sided view, the European point of view.

Trauma Healing Guide

In 1997, Gerald Kiesman started to heal from a traumatic event he experienced. Gerald recognized that information on trauma in books and on the internet was written in academic terminology. Gerald believed it was important to write a book about trauma in layman’s term (easy to understand) and healing exercises. In 2000, Gerald started to develop the book.

With 16 years of research on trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and healing exercises, Gerald has developed this trauma healing guide that provides a basic understanding of trauma along with healing exercises.

The “Trauma Healing Guide” is a valuable resource for trauma survivors, community workers, caregivers, foster parents, military personnel and veterans.

Trauma Informed Care Manual

Gerald Kiesman, owner/facilitator has developed a Trauma Informed Care Manual for Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit, and Metis community workers, managers, and caregivers. Gerald Kiesman has spent 10 years providing trauma training to many community workers, caregivers, and managers throughout Canada. He has developed trauma training material that is essential to community workers who work with trauma survivors.

Trauma Healing Guide for Indigenous Peoples

The Trauma Healing Guide includes information on how trauma impacts the brain, nervous system, hormones, muscles, health, and behavior.

Includes journal writing and healing exercises (western and traditional).

The Trauma Healing Guide includes a self-regulation exercise to assist in the healing to manage/reduce the trauma stressors in the mind and body.

“Victims of the Past provides a direction in understanding the relationship between the Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit and Metis people and first settlers. Educating society from the Indigenous point of view is paramount in understanding the history of Canada. Truly, a unique book.”
