Published By Gerald Kiesman, with Tellwell Publishing, Victoria, BC

My name is Gerald Kiesman, In 1997, I started to heal a traumatic event I experienced, throughout my healing, I recognized that information on trauma in books and on the internet was written in academic terminology, i believed it was important to write a book about trauma in layman’s term and include healing exercises. In 2000, I started to develop the book.

Throughout 2000 to 2009, I completed a professional counseling course, somatic experience trauma training level 1, 2 and 3 and started to work in the field of providing support and counseling to survivors of trauma.

In 2010, I started a business “Restoring Balance Consulting” where I have facilitated over 300 workshops of trauma and post traumatic stress disorder to community workers throughout western and central Canada and healing workshops to youth, adults and children and youth in foster care.

I have facilitated at numerous conferences and seminars and my work and personal life experience has been shared in many media broadcasts. In 2010 one of my workshops was broadcasted on CBC National News. In the summer of 2010 I raised awareness of post traumatic stress disorder by cycling throughout British Columbia.

With 16 years of research on trauma and post traumatic stress disorder I have developed a trauma healing guide that provides; an understanding of how imprints of trauma are developed in the mind and body, an understanding of post traumatic stress disorder and includes healing exercises.

In the Trauma Healing Guide I provide an excellent view of how imprints of trauma are stored throughout the brain structure, nervous system, endocrine glands, immune system and muscles and organs. It is important to have knowledge of the mind and body components in healing trauma.

At the beginning of the healing it is important to have an understanding of what trauma is and how it impacts the mind and body and to have awareness of healing exercise to manage, eliminate, or reduce the stress from the trauma while you are going through the healing process. The trauma healing guide provides a clear understanding of trauma and provides healing exercises.

The Trauma Healing Guide is a valuable resource to trauma survivors, community workers working with trauma survivors, first responders, caregivers, foster parents, military personnel and veterans.
